Mother's day

My mum asked if I would make some small mother's day cards to give out to the mums at the church she attends. So I set to thinking of what I could do, I find it harder to work on small cards as 6x6 are usually the smallest I make. I decided to go through some of  my magazines and use the free papers and toppers that were in them and never got around to using. A long with a few bits of ribbon, some gems, a couple of stamped images and peeloffs this is what I came up with. Very simple but effective I think, hope you like them.

Football mad

The challenge over on MTTC this week is "men only" So I thought I would make a football card, most men like football right! My base card is 6x6 and my first layer is a backing paper to look like grass. I stamped a footballer image onto white card and layered this onto a black matt. I then used a samll piece of backing paper with footballs on and layered it onto a black matt, I placed both matts onto my card before adding a sentiment and card candi.

Decoupage delight

My card today is an easle card with a decoupage image from a kit. I got the kit from Secret Santa at Christmas and thought the MTTC "decoupage" theme was the perfect time to use it. I started off with my easle card, then layered backing paper which came as part of the kit onto the base of the card and the front panel. I them created a square matt which I rounded off the corners and layered it with backing paper. I then placed my decoupage topper onto the matt and layered it onto my easle card. For decoration I made some bunting and used die cut letters for the sentiment.

Silver wedding

My post for today is a silver wedding card, made for an order for a friend. I started with an 8x8 base card, then placed a silver matt as my first layer. My second layer is of white card and score lines diagonally in both directions using my score board. After placing the second layer on my card I trimmed a small rectangular peice of mirror card to make a border and placed a small white embossed piece of card on top. I used silver organza ribbon to finish my border and layered it onto the card. Using the same embossing folder as I did for the border I made a small square matt and layered it onto silver mirror card, then added die cut hearts in both silver mirror card and white card. I added a swan die, pearls and sentiment to finish.
This is my DT samples for MTTC "Love is in the air" challenge
